LET US TURN YOUR TRASH INTO TREASURE

Neighborhood Drop Off Service

The average American family produces close to 300 pounds of organic material every year that could have been COMPOSTED! Instead of sending it to a landfill, let us turn your trash into treasure!

Why Compost?

Did you know that most of what you throw away is not in fact garbage, but a highly reusable resource? Composting keeps those organic materials in production, keeps them out of landfills and instead uses them to revitalize and fertilize soil, all while creating a cleaner healthier community!

How it Works

Below you will see all our current open drop off bins around WNY. Choose the one that works best for you and click the "Sign Up" button. After you sign up we’ll send your official neighborhood drop off membership welcome email. This will include information on your selected drop off bin and tips for collecting at home.  For info on what to compost click HERE. Whenever you need to drop off your food scraps, head to your neighborhood drop off bin and empty your container. The Compost Crew takes it from there and ensures your scraps are turned to compost. It’s that simple.

Where it Goes

The Farmer Pirates operate a compost site on Buffalo’s East Side. We have a team of people who manage and maintain the compost piles by mixing your food waste with different local carbon sources to create rich “finished” compost to be used on local urban farms and gardens. Order Compost
