Common Roots Urban Farm is located in the Broadway Fillmore Neighborhood of Buffalo, NY and sits on approximately 1 acre of land. The farm began in 2012 growing diversified vegetables on ¼ acre of cultivated land and has marketed to a small CSA and local restaurants. We are now establishing grapevines, red raspberries, and rhubarb plants as well as expanding a perennial herb and flower garden. Serviceberry and Elderberry trees are planted throughout the land and a small orchard with young apple, cherry, pear, and peach trees was planted in 2014.
2016 was our best season yet, despite the drought. We had a wonderful CSA, a bounty of veggies, and somehow found the time to build a farmstand and a hoophouse! This fall we tilled up new land and nearly doubled the size of cultivated land.
Stay tuned for CSA info for the 2017 season.

Who Runs the Farm
Terra Dumas, owner of the farm, is a native of Buffalo. In 2008 she moved to Maine to apprentice on a 4 acre farm, went on to manage a 1 acre diversified farm and ended her time there with a ¼ ace farm on leased land. After 3 years in Maine she moved back to Buffalo with every intention of starting an urban farm. With the support of a great network of urban growers (Farmer Pirates Co-op), Common Roots Urban Farm was born just one year after her return. She now owns a house a few doors from the farm, where she also raises hens and bees.
Josh Poodry is the new farm partner for 2016!! Josh, also from the Buffalo area, currently runs Re-Form Landscaping.
